If the player, or at least aware of what is largely happening in the world of games, you should hear the name CD Projekt Red.Because this Polish game manufacturer is the originator of the widely recognized Witcher series, who stormed the world in 2015.Unfortunately, another large project of this studio did not go as well as their last. They released their latest game, Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020.And after release, the game is full of mistakes that destroy the game.

Fortunately, CD Projekt Red is still working on improving the game.Currently, the game is in a much better condition, so new and old players can come back to it and enjoy a smooth and exciting game.

To attract more players to the game, as well as a way to expand the series, CD Projekt Red collaborated with the iconic Trigger studio to create an anime series based in the world Cyberpunk 2077. Anime is called Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and here is our review of this new series.

Time for discussion

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners turns around a teenage boy named David Martinez.Once he was an outstanding student of the AraSaka’s prestigious Academy, but over time he simply could not adapt to his rich and spoiled classmates.David’s mother, Gloria Martinez, works as a paramedic.Sometimes she brought valuable cyber sets from work and sold them to mercenaries, also known as Edgerunners, only to pay for tuition David.

At the beginning of the series, Gloria brought a military rank.Cyber-Ware called Sandevistan, to their home.He intends to sell it to Maine, one of the most outstanding mercenaries in Night City.Unfortunately, only a day later Gloria and David are involved in a fatal failure caused by a shooting, as a result of which Gloria lost her life.

David is completely alone now, having nothing to name.Feeling desperate, he decided to ask a suspicious ripperdoc (a doctor specializing in installing Cyber-Ware) that he has been known for a long time to install Sandevistan in his spine.Sandevistan allowed David to move very quickly, just like Flash.Feeling that he has nothing to lose, David sees no other way how to become a mercenary. So the journey begins, which will take David through the best and worst moments in his life.

Why is it worth watching Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

1. One of the best cyberpunk anime recent years

When we talk about cyberpunk anime, the first title that comes to my mind is certainly a certified classic, Ghost in the Shell, or newer titles such as psycho-pass.These two are the best anime cyberpunk of their time. And now these anime is finally able to convey the baton of the new King of the cyberpunk cyberpunk anime: Edgerunners.

There are three main reasons why Cyberpunk: Edgerunners deserves this title. It is a phenomenal story based on characters, has a stunning world of building, and visual effects are simply stunning. We will talk about each point in the upcoming sections, but remember that in recent years you will not find these electrifying combinations in any other cyberpunk anime.

2. A phenomenal story based on characters

Let’s start with history.Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a story based on character, which means that instead of going from one story point to the next, history develops at the same time as the development of the character. To do this, history must have well -defined and well -defined characters. It will be even better if they are nice and reference.

Characters in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners have all these criteria.David, Lucy, Maine, Rebecca, Kiwi and the rest of the main cast are imperfect people who dream of stars but get lost on the way.Trying to survive and climb to the top, they lose sight of the surroundings and are absorbed by the circumstances.Their life is a crazy ride on a mountain queue with incredibly exciting ups and completely destructive falls.

We, as viewers, can see and feel their euphoria, their doubts and regret when they pass through one dangerous mission after that.other.By building a story around these characters, viewers become much more attached to the character and therefore deeply care about their fate.

3. A stunning construction of the world

From the height of technological slums, in which David and her mother live in the fancy AraSaka building, in which the most dishonest people in the city planned their next plan, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners placed his history in a stunning world that is created thanks to the well -designed building building.

We see a dense city center filled with people who have all kinds of flashy cyber-scale installed, we see a group of mercenaries who freely wage war in the middle of the highway just to earn some money, we see perfectly trained MAXTAC officers open fire to their goal without takingNo possible civil victims, and we can see how Net-Runners fully immerse themselves in human consciousness to mention only a few.

None of them. These things are explained to viewers, they just happen. The longer we follow David’s journey, the better we see what happened in the world around him. This is because Cyberpunk: Edgerunners follows the old saying “Show, don’t say”.Instead of describing the city of the night through the exhibition, they let us see them through the eyes of the characters.

4. stunning visualizations

To combine everything together, we get a mind-impact mind. The futuristic world of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is presented in bright, sharp and dynamic colors and animations. This style perfectly represents the world and the story, and also distinguishes it from other anime, which were released around the same time as Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

CD Projekt Red certainly made the right call when he decided to cooperate with the Triggers studio.Because as a studio responsible for the iconic anime, such as Kill La Kill and Darling in the Franxx, there is no other studio that would be more suitable for the production of this anime outside Trigger. They absolutely threw him out of the park.

Why is it worth skipping cyberpunk: edgerunners

1. Nudity, violence and brutality

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an anime with R. You will come here from time to time for nudity, violence and brutality. The shots containing nudity are quite tastefully made, but it is still nudity. As for violence, well, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is filled to the brim with violence and blood. From beating someone to death to shot in a slow pace depicting a crumbling man, in this series you will find all kinds of violence. So if something like this is not your cup of tea, or maybe you plan to watch it with children or small siblings, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners may not be the right choice for you.

2. This is a tragedy

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a tragedy. This is a wonderfully made tragedy, but still a tragedy. There is a lot of death and anguish in this story. So if you prefer to watch an exciting anime with a positive atmosphere from beginning to end, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners may not be your cup of tea.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is one of the best cyberpunk anime recent years. He has a fantastic, character -based story, amazing building of the world and stunning graphics.Sure, this anime is quite closely related to the game, but you can still watch Cyberpunk: Edgerunners yourself without having to play in the game.Even if you rarely watch a tragic story, you should try Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
