The Anime Concerts market increased by 195% in 2021, but it still constitutes half of the revenues from before Pandemia

The revenues from the market achieved 12.1 billion yen in 2021, 4.1 billion yen in 2020.

A company researching live entertainment Pia Sōken revealed on October 5 that live entertainment events related to anime (including anime song concerts and concerts focusing on voice actors and anime singers) recorded total market revenue of 12.1 billion yen (About USD 81.34 million) in the period from January to December 2021.

This number is a 195% increase compared to the lowest level of 2020, $ 4.1 billion (about 27.6 million USD according to the current conversion) caused by the lack of events related to Covid-19.However, the number from 2021 accounts for almost 50% of market revenues from 2019 in the amount of USD 24.5 billion (about USD 164.7 million according to current conversion) before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Significant live entertainment events in 2021 included Animelo Summer Live (which was canceled in 2020) in August 2021, as well as Animax Musix, which had both live broadcast in January 2021, as well as the public event atLive in November 2021
